Leading the Myrtlewood Elementary community
Mrs. LaQuita Coleman, Principal
My name is LaQuita Coleman and I am the current proud principal of Myrtlewood Elementary School. I was born in Tuscaloosa, AL and graduated from Central High School. I have degrees in Early Childhood and Elementary Education and Instructional Leadership from University of Alabama and University of West Alabama. As an educator, I have been a teacher, ARI Reading Specialist, and an Assistant Principal.
The most important things to me are my faith and my family. I am married and I have two daughters, Laila, who is a first-year student at the University of Alabama, and Kinsley, who is in 7th grade at Hillcrest Middle School. In my spare time, I love to travel, read, nap, listen to podcasts and watch movies.
It is my belief that all children can learn at high levels. I am committed to making sure I am intentional with providing the best instruction for students in the Fosters community. I am so excited about leading this faculty and staff to excellence. Go Myrtlewood CUBS!
